First things first, today is my and DB's fifth anniversary! We went out to dinner but will probably do something else this weekend, because guess what else we did?
Yep, we made the drive so I could see
Laurie speak and have my
book signed! It was fun, she was cute and funny and of course, there was a lot of knitting going on in the audience. I'm not especially pleased with how I look in this photo (especially since I've taken a few I've been very happy with lately) but happy to have it! I get very flustered talking to people anyway and feel really goofy like they can tell, so I can *see* that when I look at photos like this of myself.
I'm always trying to capture Candie's pretty little black face and this is the closest I've come! She has a knack for moving at *that* moment or her fur comes out reddish instead of black.
In other news, we're getting a little more organized here in our little RV. Such a little purchase, but I'm really excited with our purchase of a shoe organizer. It's one of those over the door organizers. I took an idea from
Nancy and we're using the top row for other things, like one pocket has Ebay shipping necessities (a Sharpie, tape, scissors). The things I can't seem to get under control are my crafting supplies (knitting, paper, books, beading supplies and tools). They are probably the entire bedroom, aside from the bed of course. I don't know what to do with it all. I've rearranged things numerous times. Any suggestions?
These were for a trade I did with a close friend who happens to have an Etsy shop,
Lulubeadcharmer, and makes beautiful jewelry. The handwarmers are from
Last Minute Knitted Gifts and both are knit from Cascade 220 though one pair is the 2x2 ribbing and one is the twisted rib pattern. I love my Cascade 220, so basic but not. -In the picture of me above with Laurie, I'm wearing the necklace that my friend made. I'll post another picture soon so you can see it up close. It's great!
This is a pair of socks that I completed for another friend this summer but it took me that long to get them sent off to her! The yarn is Brown Sheep's Wildfoote in Ragtime. The color is very difficult to capture but this is close. The streaks of blue and green are more subdued in real life.
Last, as for Socktober, I have 3 socks on the needles and here are their situations:
-
Lana Grossa Meilenweit for DB, on 2 circs, the first sock is complete and I almost finished turning the heel
tonight at the book signing.
-
Socks That Rock Rooster Rock for my Mom's Mother's Day gift (I know how sad that is), one is complete
and I just ripped out the other one which was also complete but I decided to go back to a heel flap so I
need to make this one match, if that makes any sense. This one is at the beginning of the heel flap.
-
Hello Yarn Foolish Anklets for me and actually, I need to cast on the second one.
Well, I think that's about all for now. I have something I've been stressing over tomorrow so keep me in your knitterly thoughts.
Happy Knitting . . .
