A Notion to Knit

Random Wednesday

1. A pork roast is slow cooking as I type this. Mmm, it smells so good!

2. I was suddenly overtaken to sort through more things in a new area of our bedroom. I'm pleasantly (mostly) surprised by how much is trash or shred. The pleasant part is, of course, because it's basically trash and will be gone soon. The unpleasant is because much of the mail trash is things I don't want to be sent to begin with.

3. I'm going to finish the other Magic Slipper tonight. Pictures tomorrow.

A glimpse.

These are just a few things I want to share tonight.

Last month, on our way to the show, this was my knitting setup. That's a little book light clipped onto the handle on the back of a shuttle seat. The handle was a happy coincidence.

Now they're everywhere, but these were the first cherry blossoms I laid eyes on this year.

I love how much my Namaste Malibu holds. And as simple as this is, it's one of my favorite pictures. I think it's the raindrops on the bag, the simplicity and how true the colors are in daylight.

Simple is good.

A finished sock! It's Flat Feet yarn, a simple roll cuff sock. I haven't been crazy about knitting with this but I do love how the completed sock feels while being worn. I just need to kitchener and weave in the ends before starting the second one. I think I'm going to start something else too. What will it be?

Happy happy socks, these colors are so awesome! Hubby loves them, says they're very comfy. I'm glad he's not afraid of colors, he's proud of them being handknit. Yay.

I will definitely knit this pattern again. I would love a pair of these for myself later on. But, not too much later on I hope. It seems like it's best while the pattern is still fresh on my mind just by the fact that the second sock was much easier than the first. The only problem in the end is that I found it hard to distinguish (even following the pattern notes) where to measure from when deciding where to start the heel. Obviously this was a big deal, since the socks ended up so much bigger that they fit my Hubby and it's not like we're close in size. Next time I'll err on the smaller size for this pattern. Still, I love them. We should all have a pair!
