I did break my 'no-buying' policy, but I'm starting over so to speak. I'm sure I can refrain for the rest of the month.
This yarn is some Lamb's Pride Worsted that has been dyed by Cherry Tree Hill. I love these colors, unfortunately I had a difficult time trying to capture them. There are some deep reds in there, too. And I bought my ball winder! I have very little experience using a ball winder and my first experience was not so fun. I ended up having to rewind the yarn, but the second time was a charm! Part of the problem had to do with not setting the little 'arm' correctly in the beginning and I'm sure that the fact that I set it up without bothering to look over the instructions, as usual, had nothing to do with this! At one point, DB saved helped me wind a little bit along with fixing the problem.
Actual knitting . . . yesterday was the first day that I knit in awhile, but I made a lot of progress on sleeve #2 of the Vanilla Hemp Berkshire. I am within 5-6 inches of finishing and I'm all done with decreases. I plan to work on it more tonight even if I have to force myself! I really don't like knitting sleeves, working on large double pointed needles is very awkward to me and it doesn't fly by like sock knitting (even if socks are on tiny needles). That is what slowed me down on the Hourglass Sweater too. But, since our weather is being so weird this week - raining (normal) one minute but comfortable outside (50's are good for me), sun blinding me and my car heater making me swelter the next, hail the next, and then snow - I think there is plenty of opportunity to wear a sweater if I can get past my 'sleeve block'.
School . . . I have my Logic final on Monday and Spanish on Wednesday. I am so very lost in Logic so I'm going to try to go over it a lot every day until Monday. There were parts of the class where I was lost briefly but then 'got it' and did well until this last part .. proofs .. and now I know nothing, it's like trying to decipher a language I've never seen before (or better yet, Calculus). Actually, I guess that is exactly what the proofs are intended to be. Also, I've been doing extra workouts throughout the week to make up for some missed classes in my Conditioning class. Today I did 55 minutes on the treadmill which was a huge jump for me, so I'm thinking I should go to the gym this weekend to keep it up. Otherwise, I may not be able to move.
Well, I'm off for now. I think I've droned on long enough!
Happy Weekend!
