Interweave Knits Cable Rib socks in Lorna's Laces Georgetown:
Tomorrow I'm going to take another picture of these to post, so that I can use natural light. I also want to show a better view of the cables. Without even trying, I knit the toes matching as to how the colors pooled. I am pleased with how these turned out, pretty, I think.
As for other knitting, awhile back I cast on for this Bell Sleeve Shrug but had to rip out my progress. I had knit about a third of the way through and realized that it was really going to be too big, even though I'd measured my upper arm to obtain a size. So, I decided to drop down a size and cast on again but the cast on stitches have been sitting on the needles ever since. I think that I'll start working on this again tomorrow. Also, I have 12 pairs of fingerless mitts to knit (using the pattern from Weekend Knitting), like this, by the end of next month. These are Christmas gifts and so far I only have 3 skeins of Cascade 220 for them. I'll need more of course. I've been meaning to show the Cascade 220 so that will be soon (along with some non-knitting pictures from my trip to Texas because that's where I bought the yarn *grin*).
Other pictures that I really had to share:
I love this picture that I took of Candie sitting outside last week. I think that it has a fall feeling about it - a curious black kitty with changing leaves around her, happiness.
And these big white mushrooms were in my backyard. They look so perfect. I don't think I'd actually seen mushrooms growing anywhere until after we moved into this house last year.
Last, but definitely not least. Tomorrow is DB and my 3rd anniversary together. We're just going to play it by ear, but we plan on making a day of it.
See you tomorrow night.

Wow, they came out beautifully. Well done!

The Georgetown really shows that pattern to its best advantage. Nice job!

Ooh, pretty socks! I might try that pattern if I ever finish my Waving Laces socks. Cute kitty, too!

I love the cat picture. I tried to catch a picture of a black cat as it was crossing in front of us the other day. It is probably one of at least a dozen stray "barn" cats that live down the road from us, but this was the only black one I've seen. I might just have to take a picture of a friend's all white cat and then reverse the colors on my computer!
Great socks, by the way!
